We're still resisting the dumb meters. About 4 million of them aren't working apparently. These people are absolute morons and have no business running an energy company. I wouldn't trust them to run a bath.

Green Energy = The Idiocy of "Brawndo".

Brilliantly accurate equivalence!

Now...just start claiming that you can hear machines talking, stating they are craving reliable, dispatchable, 24/7/365 power on demand--just like the hero in Idiocracy claimed he could hear plants stating they craved water.

It is no more insane then claiming the modern world can be powered with sunshine and breezes!

thanks for the laugh... so sad.. but so true!!! Love Idiocracy the movie, not so much the idiots out there!

what a load of bs just so they can turn your meter down when they feel like it and make you feel good about it..... and it works, that's the even sadder thing!

I'm going to bet that they respond "the sun shines all the time....Duh!"

Omitting the inconvenient "just not in the same place" part.

Octopus Energy has been the latest "Green Energy" provider forced upon us. I'm even less delighted by this 8-leged green blob, than I was with the previous Shell Energy. I told Shell that they were Scamsters, and that they were taking us for a ride. How much longer we'll be able to withstand their "Smart Meter" Dictat, I do not know.

Me too, forced to leave EDF when my fixed-term tariff expired to avoid being forced into taking a smart meter. Unfortunately I’m now paying about 80% more than my EDF tariff – it was great while it lasted. At least Octopus seem not too concerned about smart meters, maybe because they use synthetic smart meters!! https://open.substack.com/pub/jaimejessop/p/can-octopus-survive-contact-with?r=8t7a0&utm_campaign=comment-list-share-cta&utm_medium=web&comments=true&commentId=81892723.
