Twitter question: Would it be reasonable for Twitter to have two classes of users:

#1 ID-verified users who are definitely not trolls. AKA Blue Checks.

#2 Anonymous users, who may, or may not, be trolls.

Users then have the choice to either SHOW ALL or only SHOW VERIFIED. SHOW ALL must be the default.

I ask because I guess that's where Musk will go.

Trump is not going back onto Twitter. I think this is a wise decision. He's sticking with Truth Social, his main media platform. He stated in April he would not return, after the news of the Musk buyout. This is what he says now:

"I am very happy that Twitter is now in sane hands, and will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics and Maniacs that truly hate our country," Trump Truthed. "Twitter must now work hard to rid itself of all of the bots and fake accounts that have hurt it so badly. It will be much smaller, but better."

Trump is very aware of the fact that if he is lured back to Twitter, the boost to Musk's newly acquired platform will be very considerable, whereas he may damage his own platform, Truth Social. So naturally, he will now stick with his own social media platform, which he says is outperforming many others, claiming also that Twitter will be considerably diminished when the bots are cleaned out.

But the really big news of the day is that I am not tempted to go back, even if I get an email inviting me to have my banned account reinstated. You heard it here first (and last, and only)!

Have you seen Musk's statement on this... its curious... https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1585619322239561728/photo/1

Yes, I saw that. Musk seems to have this curious notion that there is a society level parity between the extreme right and the extreme left. He is very wrong on this. The extreme right exists of course but it has NO hold on the main stream media and is an ideological preoccupation confined to a minority. The extreme left has infiltrated virtually every aspect of Western public life and almost every public and private institution, globally, from the US presidential office downwards. The extreme left controls virtually all of Big Tech and the media and is all-pervasive in our educational system from kindergarten to university. It's absurd that Musk apparently cannot perceive this imbalance.

I wouldn't discount old Zuck so swiftly.

I remember the buzz back in May 2012, in the office during Facebook's IPO. Started at $38 per share, and fell the very next day. It kept falling until late summer to around $20.

In retrospect, I had the insight that sooner or later even Hungarian babushkas will swipe their spare time away on this platform, so it's a no brainer to buy, we're early. I didn't buy.

In 2021 it peaked at close to $400. Now it's around $100.

Oh yes, I know, billionaire babies do have a habit of bouncing. I'm hoping in Zuckerberg's case, it's more of a dead cat bounce.

Everyone hates him. He's been cool to hate since Social Network.

So I'm trying to be a fanboy. Contrarianism is not a habit, it's a way of life. It's difficult, still trying to find a positive angle. He has the charisma of a public notary, on his best days.

But if I can figure it out, I'd be joining a very exclusive club. Serious hipster credit.

LOL. Best of luck. You have a tough task ahead. Me, I think life should be easy sometimes, even for dedicated contrarians!
