Being Woke Really Zucks Today
META’s stocks have plunged and so has Zuckerberg’s net worth. That’s what you get for going woke, fixing presidential elections and cosying up to Biden’s FBI and CIA thugs in order to stifle and violate American citizens’ First Amendment rights.
Twatter executives are also not happy bunnies. Elon Musk has completed his purchase of the Blue Bird platform and promptly fired Vijaya Gadde, who got US President Donald Trump permanently suspended. Other woke, censorious top executives have also been given their marching orders. What I want to know is, when is he going to fire the obnoxious, power-crazed, wokeling, purple-haired keyboard warrior who got me permanently suspended? I would have thought this would have also been one of his top priorities!
So, a good day. I only hope that Musk doesn’t turn Twatter into a giant global digital surveillance platform by demanding ID verification from all users and collecting data which could be used to generate a social credit score. That’s too high a price to pay for free speech. I’m still not convinced that Musk purchased Twatter for purely philanthropic reasons. He was ‘allowed’ to purchase the world’s most influential social media platform and deals went on behind the scenes, of that I’m virtually certain.
I wouldn't discount old Zuck so swiftly.
I remember the buzz back in May 2012, in the office during Facebook's IPO. Started at $38 per share, and fell the very next day. It kept falling until late summer to around $20.
In retrospect, I had the insight that sooner or later even Hungarian babushkas will swipe their spare time away on this platform, so it's a no brainer to buy, we're early. I didn't buy.
In 2021 it peaked at close to $400. Now it's around $100.
Twitter question: Would it be reasonable for Twitter to have two classes of users:
#1 ID-verified users who are definitely not trolls. AKA Blue Checks.
#2 Anonymous users, who may, or may not, be trolls.
Users then have the choice to either SHOW ALL or only SHOW VERIFIED. SHOW ALL must be the default.
I ask because I guess that's where Musk will go.
