Sadly, Allison Pearson is right judging by the replies beneath her post, including Jamie’s. The same sentiment applies as to who would want to join the armed forces nowadays. What depraved times we are living through under the treasonous Uniparty.
"They" are NOT "our" government. "They" belong to the Globalist Elite of the World Economic Forum (WEF) that controls the EU and most of the political parties across the western world.
It was a time when British Sovereignty meant something. Many tried to take it away from us over the years; the French, the Spanish, the Dutch, Napolian, Hitler. All failed, and then our own government just gave it away and paid large sums of money for the privelege.
At least we now have it back again, but unfortunately modern governments haven't a clue what to do with it.
Do we have it back? In name only I feel. The current government is determined once more to subvert British sovereignty to the EU - plus enable and facilitate a large scale invasion of Third World foot soldiers.

With a government like ours, who needs enemies?
I consider the men and women who fought back then to be mostly honourable and brave.
Our leaders however, both past and present, not so much.
Hitler reportedly didn't want war with Britain, having made multiple attempts at peace with us.
Hess also tried to broker a deal and was jailed by us for the rest of his life.
I no longer think we were the good guys and that maybe our title of Perfidious Albion was justified.
