Labour, LibDem, Green and some Conservative MPs voted to legalise self-abortion up to the point of birth - because ‘wimmin’s rights’ and in particular the rights of women to have control over their own bodies, according to Green MP Carla Denyer.
Apparently, that right extends to having control over the body of their baby, i.e. deciding whether it lives or dies. 99% of women don’t want that ‘right’ at the point of birth. But MPs think they should have it anyways.
But here’s the thing I want to talk about. The assumption is, somehow, that a fully formed human ‘foetus’ inside the womb is somehow materially and ethically different from a fully formed baby outside of the womb. As soon as the baby is born, it suddenly becomes a person and to kill that person is murder. But a few minutes before being born, it’s fair game to be killed, and that will not be a crime. If that sounds absurd, take the case of identical twins.
Imagine two identical twins, full term, ready to be born. The woman goes into labour and one twin is delivered. It’s often the case that the other twin is born several minutes later but it can be days or even weeks before the other identical twin is born. The law as it stands says that the twin outside of the womb has full human rights as a person and he/she cannot be intentionally killed without the killer being charged with murder. But the twin inside the womb can be done away with by the mother and she will face no penalty under British law. Imagine, if you are a twin, what you would feel like knowing that your sibling had been murdered before they could be born?
This is how absurd and unjust the abortion amendment is which was just passed by our wicked MPs. Not only are they evil, but they are unbelievably stupid too to think that there is any biological or ethical difference between an unborn full term child and a born full term child. Both are human beings.
I see that her tweet got a pile-on of condemnation led by yourself and Kathy Gyngell. The way the brains of such leftists work is a mystery to me, that they can think their supposed “right to control their own bodies” nullifies the right to life of the unborn child. Selfish, narcissist, unfeeling, cruel …
We have the same thinking in so many US states. Forgive me if I've said this before but the motto of these women is "give me convenience or give me death".
I have cousins who were adopted in the early 70s prior to Roe v Wade. Unwanted babies were adopted out. Now they're simply snuffed. My cousins would not be here if conceived out of wedlock today. And infertile couples go shopping for Chinese babies because the American babies are being used for pharma research.
