Erasmus of Rotterdam wrote “In the land of the blind the one-eyed man or woman is king…” and ruler of all those who can see but refuse to do so.

Where can we find such a King, or Queen?

Who will lead us out of the darkness? Who will fight the pagan usurper?

Choices, choices… another quote from an old movie comes to mind where Conan the Barbarian was asked what was best in life and he replied, “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.”

Ah, a simple man with a simple solution but perhaps not possible in todays nuanced world.

I believe we need a Celtic Bard, a Robert Burns to compose a satiric eulogy for the loss of modern civilization with a plea for a new heroine… to come forward to lead us away from the abyss we are stumbling towards.

There was once a day, but old Time wasy then young,

That brave Caledonia, the chief of her line,

From some of your northern deities sprung,

(Who knows not that brave Caledonia's divine?)

From Tweed to the Orcades was her domain,

To hunt, or to pasture, or do what she would:

Her heav'nly relations there fixed her reign,

And pledg'd her their godheads to warrant it good.

A lambkin in peace, but a lion in war,

The pride of her kindred, the heroine grew:

Her grandsire, old Odin, triumphantly swore,—

“Whoe'er shall provoke thee, th' encounter shall rue!”

With tillage or pasture at times she would sport,

To feed her fair flocks by her green rustling corn;

But chiefly the woods were her fav'rite resort,

Her darling amusement, the hounds and the horn.

Long quiet she reigned; till thitherward steers

A flight of bold eagles from Adria's strand:

Repeated, successive, for many long years,

They darken'd the air, and they plunder'd the land:

Their pounces were murder, and terror their cry,

They'd conquer'd and ruin'd a world beside;

She took to her hills, and her arrows let fly,

The daring invaders they fled or they died.

Towards the end of all empires (like the USA and most of Europe) the imminent collapse shifts the attention and fear from Barbarians at the gate to dissent from within.

We are in that final long trajectory down, well past the apex of Western civilization.

For any control to be maintained an endless variety of nebulous enemies and internal threats must be conjured. They need not be real. The weather has always served as such a boogeyman for millennia. Blood soaked pyramids litter the globe as testimony to ancient "weather control".
