OMG! That BBC article is so bad that it has to be a satire? A pop-up at the lower part of my screen said :"This website is produced by BBC Global News, a commercial company owned by the BBC (and just the BBC). No money from the licence fee was used to create this website. The money we make from it is re-invested to help fund the BBC’s international journalism"!
I can guarantee the great and the good at COP27 will be reading this crap - it's all part and parcel of the climate 'loss and damage' scam where rich developed nations are forced to pay developing nations compensation for loss and damage caused by bad weather. Of course, we all know it's yet another international money laundering exercise, just like Ukraine, and the money raised is very unlikely to filter through to those affected. But even if it did, taxpayers in developed nations don't owe developing nations any so called 'compensation' for natural disasters. We already contribute billions in foreign aid, plus there are numerous charities set up in order to provide assistance to those in the Third World affected by natural disasters.
Yes, I think you are right! This would explain the compensation scheme - transfer money from first world tax payers to countries without much financial oversight, lots of corruption., where the money can go missing.
I'm happy to report that I recently cancelled my TV licence as I stopped watching or believing in the BBC a long time ago. The lady on the phone insisted on lecturing me about the criminal consequences if I was caught viewing live TV - which was a little surprising as I'd already told her what I thought of the BBC. It really is time we all did the same - then maybe we'd see some honesty, integrity, truthfulness and trustworthiness return to this broken institution.
I cancelled my licence about 10 years ago. Since moving, I decided I couldn't even be bothered to formally confirm to them that I didn't need a licence and they've been sending me extremely threatening letters ever since. Their latest warned me that they were going to send the SWAT team round on the 3rd November. Much to my disappointment, they didn't turn up!
Vegans in London are powered by diesel. Starting with whatever crappy truck transports the fruit pickers on the Southern Hemisphere to the van that stocks the local Pret.
Vegans and soy-latte-sipping, laptop-tapping, media and fossil fuel-powered climate justice warriors inhabiting Islington are from Planet B, which they claim doesn't exist. The rest of us have our feet firmly planted here on planet Earth.
The only way bad weather can be racist is if it’s being manipulated by man.
BBC News at 6 main headline: "We are headed for climate hell"!

Where did they get the money from to set up that commercial company, and does it consistently run at a profit?
I doubt many will be reading this crap anyway... they have all of substack to compete with for example... probably a money sink!
