Sunderland Airshow Cancelled Three Years Running Because of Covid, Now Permanently Cancelled Due to "Global Climate Emergency"
If you live in the North or North East of England and previously enjoyed taking your family to Sunderland to see the airshow, then tough, you no longer can. First the council used the risible excuse of a nasty cold virus to shut it down for three years running. Now that excuse is no longer plausible, they’re using the equally risible excuse of a “global climate emergency” in order to claim that the event can never be staged again because of the vanishingly small contribution it makes to global CO2 emissions. Sunderland council is committed to going carbon neutral by 2030 in what is in effect a totally pointless virtue-signalling gesture even if we presume that anthropogenic climate change due to greenhouse gases is real and dangerous (hint: if it’s real, then it’s almost certainly insignificant). Chinese coal-fired power stations produce the equivalent of millions of Sunderland airshows in just a few hours of emissions, perhaps even minutes, and they will be doing so for at least the next decade
There is no rational, scientific justification for destroying the enjoyment of hundreds of thousands of spectators. This is pure eco-communist, killjoy control freakery. For the first three years it was pure medico-fascist, killjoy control freakery. But know this; there is no difference between the two, which is why one has merged seamlessly into the other. Covid and the non-existent climate emergency are the same scam, perpetrated by the exact same people.
Update: 19th October:
This is very much to the point, from Tony Heller, who’s been calling out the climate fraudsters for years.
Yes, total madness.
In 1966 my dad took my brother and me to Sunderland Airshow. We went up in a 4-seater light aircraft for a spin around the town. I was sitting beside the pilot and at one point allowed to hold the dual control and turn the plane slightly. It was a memorable day for a 10-yeat-old. Many more significant cultural artefacts than just statues are being pulled down all around us. Sunderland used to be the biggest shipbuilding town in the world.
