I don’t know where you picked this up Jamie, because I’ve not heard this warning even although I live in Scotland! Maybe it’s because I shun the MSM. I can confirm that it has been very dry for quite some time, with the golf courses and my lawn already baked brown. A couple of days ago I had my garden hose sprinkler on for about three hours to try to salvage the lawn. Hope I haven’t been reported!

As for these modern shower thingies, I’ve never got into using them. My mornings always start with a decadent deep hot bath (it helps loosen up my aged body). While I’m luxuriating, I usually listen to the local commercial radio station (can’t bear the BBC) and I’m surprised it hasn’t mentioned this warning. Maybe they only do paid adverts, like the interminable pleas on behalf of NHS Scotland to get the latest Covid booster jab.

I'm a few miles from the Scottish border in Cumbria and can confirm that it has been very dry this past month or so and that large areas of grass are now turning very brown. Our water company has written to us advising that they are installing a meter for 'monitoring purposes only' just to let us know 'how much we could be saving' by switching to a metered supply. But the idiots don't even realise that the feed pipe which they will be monitoring serves two properties! We only have a bath tub too. But it's a modest sized single bath. I think I might fit a large corner bath tub in response to this austerity nudging from the media and water companies.
