For me, watching this alerted me to the discomfiting fact that neither Roosevelt nor Churchill, informed of the extermination of millions of Jews, did anything much to prevent it. Churchill is the all-British hero of the militarized struggle against the Nazis, but when it came to addressing the problem of the Final Solution, he refused to even meet with a Polish eyewitness who had been smuggled into a camp. American corporations, from the 1930s onwards, contributed hugely to Germany’s ability to wage war and provided the technology necessary to implement the mass identification, rounding up and ultimately the extermination of Jews and other ‘undesirables’. The film confirms what I have long suspected - the Nazis were not defeated by the Allies during WW2 - they just went underground and dispersed themselves across the globe, often with the assistance of the Allies. Nuremberg was a show-trial.
