I just left a comment at Karen Hunt's substack:

"It's not a Nazi salute. People are failing to understand Musk, some intentionally trying to misunderstand him in order to promote their preferred scurrilous interpretation of his behaviour. I wrote about it here:

The human race has a rich history of symbolism. The Nazis (mis)appropriated many ancient symbols, signs and gestures in order to promote their sinister ideology and to reach the masses by providing that ideology with an emotional, intellectual and intuitive connection to the deep human psyche. They weren't fools; they knew what they were doing.

So does this now mean that we should proscribe any signs, symbols or gestures which imitate or even vaguely resemble those which were co-opted by the Nazis to promote their horrific Third Reich? Does this mean that we should instantly vilify anyone caught in the act of using those signs, symbols and gestures and condemn them also as a Master Race fascist? If you believe that, if you enthusiastically endorse that, without due reflection, then I suspect that it is you who is in fact the neo-Nazi fascist in the room."

Former Lib Naomi hasn’t quite figured out that Conservatives aren’t into symbolism that isn’t related to anything other than religion. We don’t do secret society hand shakes. The rainbow which was a religious symbol has been hijacked by leftists to mean something far from biblical. It is the left that loves to divide through symbolism.
