I just tried viewing some tweets linked to from other sites and could not. I was prompted to log in instead. Up until today, I have been able to view public tweets without having to log in. I don’t have an account obviously, because Twitter banned me permanently. So, is Elon musk’s Twitter now effectively offline to all non-users? Just like Facebook. It looks like it. The world’s premier ‘free speech town square’ is now hidden from non-members. How very liberating and transparent.
It looks as though the problem may be related to the ending of Twitter's hosting contract with Amazon Web Services. This has resulted in the host imposing limits to the amount of data that can be transferred. Consequently Twitter has put some temporary restrictions on the use of the platform. The restrictions seem to be particularly directed at those without accounts or paid subscriptions.
That article talks about Musk's decision to limit the number of tweets non-paying users can view in one day because of so called 'data scraping'. Really it's just him deciding that ALL users need to pay for the 'privilege' of viewing unlimited tweets. The log in prompt to view tweets is probably related to this - Musk doesn't want anyone viewing tweets who is not a registered user. It all stinks of Musk just trying to control the flow of what should be public information and monetizing access to that information.
Twitter is the absinthe of this generation's roaring twenties. Going cold turkey can be tough for some, but in the end you'll be happier and healthier.
"Elon" is a construct of the state propaganda apparatus. He doesn't exist except to provide cointelpro for the regime. Twatter is the state's main tool of manipulation. Agent Musk simply revived it recently to suck more proles back inside.
I can still get in from safari on my phone. Try doing it from an incognito window. When it prompts the log in, click the x in the top left corner and keep refreshing a few times.

Here is the explanation for this... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-66077195

Yes, in another article it mentions that Musk has also said that non-users won't be able to view tweets as "an emergency measure"... https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/07/01/twitter-down-tweets-restricted-elon-musk/

Every day brings a new pile of fresh dystopia 😭
Yes, it has been this way for search on twitter for some time, now I am not able to even view twitter accounts.
Oh damn
Yep, I got the same thing.
I hope there’s a source of important videos that are downloaded from Twaddle and made available to everyone.
Same happens to me, I closed my tweeter account years ago; I can’t see any videos that are posted on tweeter as it prompts me to login in first🙄
