Being a natural born pessimist and having zero confidence in WEF appointed Rashi Sanook or the Fake Conservatives, who immediately reversed the lifting of the ban on fracking, I predicted that Whitehaven Colliery would be scrapped by the government in order to virtue signal its good intention re.
I watched Channel 4 News last night just to see how bad it is. This was their top story and they were in hysterics. These “useful idiots” really seem to believe that we can get rid of coal and all other fossil fuels and that this will somehow “tackle climate change”, which it won’t even if the global climate were controlled by atmospheric CO2, which it isn’t, because most of the rest of world is going to carry on with fossil fuel business as usual. Incredible.
Greens are not going to take this lying down. They hate losing, so I expect a small army of Just Stop Oil idiots are being dispatched to Cumbria as we speak. If they think their absurd antics are poorly tolerated down south, just wait until they start doing it on the streets of Whitehaven!
"Protesters are also gearing up to take local action at the site of the mine, and any banks and investors that finance the mine will also be put under pressure in public campaigns."
They are going to meet with some very angry counter-protesters if they try this. Then there's this utterly absurd statement from Caroline Lucas:
“This government has backed a climate-busting, backward-looking, business-wrecking, stranded asset coalmine. This mine is a climate crime against humanity – and such a reckless desire to dig up our dirty fossil fuel past will be challenged every step of the way.”
You can't get more unhinged than that but these fanatics are experts in lawfare and they will use the climate change act 2008 to try and stop this mine, even though it will make absolutely no difference to the climate, is a tiny drop in the ocean compared to mining operations in other countries, but it will make a huge difference to the people of Whitehaven, who Lucas and her Green pals obviously detest with a vengeance.
Sooner or later reality begins to bite and the truth dawns, even on politicians. We need energy and digging it up overseas and shipping it here is downright stupid. The people who live in Fluffy Bunny Land have some nasty surprises coming.

Just like I said:

Emotional Labour. (I'm sure I'm not the first one.)
