I think the real issue is that Hollywood, only approves of some tropes and motifs, giving the scriptwriters very limited room to manoeuvre. Nothing is based on or in reality. It's all computer generated scenic output, and when no one is enthused any more, the solution to waning attentions is that we need more of the same, just bigger! Hyper saturated with an increasing lack of polish. These people have no imagination because the Newspeak vocabulary constrains them. Inevitably the script produces only a stinking turd recycled over and over and over again by a generation of talentless NPCs. When ideology rules over merit, it is nigh on impossible to have enough polish for the volume of turd being produced.
Replace 'Hollywood' with Covid or with the Climate debate. It's just all so, well...predictable.
Seems apt to write this on a hot early September day that was and still is disgustingly humid. I'm not a fan. Of course the Jetstream is involved. The classic omega block is slowly drifting further east. As Jaime and I have discussed and 'predicted' ad nauseum; Blocking + meridional Jetstream = weather. Applies in most places, in most years of late, as it has in the past.
