My local weather forecast. The rest of the country is much the same. Deep joy. After a long, cold, wet winter, there is no sign of spring. In fact, just as meteorological spring has sprung, the weather is getting colder. It will feel like -1C in a bitter northerly wind at midday on March 7th. I can’t take much more of this global warming. Bring on those stratospheric sulphur injections to block out the sun’s rays. That should do the trick. No need to worry about spring, or summer, or autumn. Just permanent winter.

The controversial concept of purposely deflecting the sun’s rays to cool down an overheating Earth should be further studied, according to a group of scientists headed by James Hansen, the renowned former Nasa climate researcher.
An open letter from more than 60 scientists across the US, Canada and Europe warns that it is “increasingly unlikely” the world will remain below 2C of heating beyond pre-industrial times, due to a failure to slash greenhouse gas emissions, requiring a “rigorous, rapid scientific assessment” of previously outlandish proposals for solar geoengineering to provide rapid cooling.
The Bureau said f Meteorology in Australia has just announced this summer was 0.07 degrees above average temperature. I’m 70 an this would have to be one ☝️ f the coolest summers in my memory lmao.
There are many people who insist that solar radiation management via injection of stratospheric aerosols is already in progress globally. The so called 'chemtrail conspiracy theorists'. 'Just look up,' they say, 'we're being sprayed like bugs'. I have to admit that this is one conspiracy too far for me. I consider it rather more likely that the aircraft involved are almost always commercial airlines and that the trails produced are predominantly frozen H20 (water crystals). Also that these 'contrails' are more likely to result in net warming rather than cooling. Now we're being scared by the prospect of the UN and others giving the go-ahead for actual stratospheric injection of aerosols. It's a complex subject and a very emotive one and you can end up treading on a lot of toes trying to make sense of it all. So I just might do that in a forthcoming post!
