Exactly. Cheap, abundant and very easy to store. Coal is wrongfully maligned as a generating fuel. In modern power stations it can be pulverized and burnt very cleanly and efficiently with the use of scrubbers to remove the worst pollutants. CO2 is NOT a pollutant.
