The Mirror have redefined the term ‘heatwave’: it is now the occurrence of some totally normal late June temperatures (26C or 79F) for 48 hours only in a few major cities where the urban heat island is expected to boost temperatures.
Given that there was actually frost on the ground here in the hills of Wales this past Tuesday, June 11th chances are that we're likely out of luck when it comes to the possible "record breaking" Hottest 3 Days. Evah™.
I wonder if the two named stenographers received bonus £ for writing this crap propaganda.
“48 hour blast of sun”. In the UK in June a summer day has roughly 17 hours of daylight. Scaling from that says that for 48 hours of continuous sunlight, a day would need to be at least 68 hours long.
I hear…the climate is at the precipice of a virtual collapse of all previously known science. Space/Time continuums may be effected as well. Thankfully, the “news” peeps can help everyone navigate these psychotic scenarios with what is and what is not, actually true. Personally, I can’t wait to see what happens in the 5 lucky cities!!
It’s 28.7 near Tokyo right now. Hot, yes, but not newsworthy.
At least they haven't blamed Brexit.
