Are we in a climate emergency? Is there a happening ‘climate crisis’? Andrew Dessler thinks so, but he thinks that the judgement is not a scientific one . . . . . then he changes his mind half way through his substack article and claims it is a scientific one! He seems confused by his own rhetoric.
Have you read the report 'Clean' Air, Dirty Money, Filthy Politics? I wonder how we could help people to look at this. People want something easy and so they close their eyes to anything too 'long' or complicated for them because they don't want to know. I understand that we can't MAKE people face things they don't want to. I appreciate the work done on a report like this but I struggle to find the balance when talking to people between overwhelming them with information and often sounding like a crazy person or just sound bite type cliches. Do you think there is a middle way of getting people to see past the frenzied propoganda?
If there is a middle way, I haven't found it. In order for people to see past the propaganda, they have to start to think, independently, with an open mind, not just react knee jerk like, to (mis)information. It seems that is very hard for so many people nowadays.
Yes, asking questions seems to be the key, trying to make sense of things for yourself, rather than just accepting. Its all quite disheartening to see that most people don't want to and have been 'played' so easily.

Your points are so well framed and really helpful for any of us trying to navigate all this 'science' that is coming at us from every direction. Thank goodness I don't have a TV, social media or any mainstream news, I just don't think I could stand it.

There has been a recent acceleration in the rate at which the global warming scam and Net Zero farce is being revealed for what it is. You could call it the climate emergency scam crisis or Green Energy crisis.
The global warming scam has accelerated in inverse proportion to the slowing of the ConVid scam. People increasingly woke up to the latter and provided less excuse for Lockdowns and other deprivations. Net Zero will provide the facists with all the resources they need for 100% control.
Covid was entry level Net Zero. The Green crap was there right at the start, with the curtailment of travel (especially flying), winding down of industrial production, promotion of work from home and bicycles and the absurd widening of pavements onto roads in order to promote 'social distancing'. The UK transport minister spouting garbage about the wonderful opportunity for a great Green reset. Few people saw it.
I think part of the switch is from when personal economic reality intrudes and people suddenly find themselves unable to afford food and fuel. These bizarre green windmills no longer have much attraction for tilting... Even the Don Quixotes have to get off their horses and find something to eat.
