An Amnesty For Covid Crimes Against Humanity?
No way! Say Twitter Users and Virtually Everyone On Substack!
Professor Emily Oster wants to declare an amnesty and just forgive and forget the bad things which we ‘did to each other’ during the last nearly three years of fear-driven hysteria and opportunistic power and money grabbing by those in power and who have money, but wanted more. El Gato Malo and Igor Chudov say it all basically and I recommend you read their posts and comments.
I’m sure other Substack authors will join in by expressing incredulity at the unabashed, unapologetic, sheer gall of this woman for suggesting that we should forgive and forget crimes committed against humanity simply because people were ‘in the dark’ and peeing their panties over a disease which was demonstrably less dangerous to the majority of the population than a bad ‘flu. I’ll just throw my two-penneth in here. But they weren’t just soiling their undies and their mattresses; some were actively taking the opportunity (by crushing human rights) to increase their wealth and/or their power by virtue of the unprecedented hysteria-driven panic generated by the appearance of SARS-CoV-2. Emily Oster was supporting them:
Now she wants us to forgive, forget and move on - without so much as a hint of an apology for her bad behaviour or an admission of guilt!
Well, go forth and multiply my dear, then go forth and multiply some more! Not going to happen. Just read the comments on twitter and on Substack. This is going down to the wire. You don’t just obliterate human rights, completely trash a hundred years of epidemiological and immunological science, tear up the Nuremberg Code and kill and injure millions of people because you ‘were in the dark’. You were in the dark because you chose to go there, you chose to reject the Enlightenment and embrace Mediaeval superstition. You chose to embrace the festering evil on the Dark Side. You were quite happy living in that pustule until it burst - spectacularly - showering you with the pus and poison of your own misdeeds.
So suck it up sweetheart and reap the whirlwind which is coming.
Eugyppius:
"Emily Oster may have said a few reasonable things in the depths of her pandemic moderation, but she can take her proposal for pandemic amnesty and shove it all the way up her ass. I’m never going to forget what these villains did to me and my friends. It is just hard to put into words how infuriating it is, to read this breezy triviliasation of the absolute hell we’ve been through, penned by some comfortable and clueless Ivy League mommyconomist who is ready to mouth support for basically any pandemic policy that doesn’t directly affect her or her family and then plead that the horrible behaviour and policies supported by her entire social milieu are just down to ignorance about the virus. We knew everything we needed to know about SARS-2 already in February 2020. The pandemicists and their supporters crossed many bright red lines in their eradicationist zeal and ruined untold millions of lives. That doesn’t all just go away now."
I guess that's a 'no' then!

I think it's too early to talk about amnesties or forgiveness. We're simply too much in the dark about the opinions and motives of those who cheer-led and perpetrated this.
