Breaking News: Forget Freezing June - 48 Hour 26C Heatwave Is Due To Hit FIVE Major Cities At The End Of The Month!
The Mirror have redefined the term ‘heatwave’: it is now the occurrence of some totally normal late June temperatures (26C or 79F) for 48 hours only in a few major cities where the urban heat island is expected to boost temperatures. If you live in the countryside, you may be out of luck.
For the first half of June, of course, the whole country has had their heating on and it’s been so cold in central England that it has been on a par with the fifth coldest June since records began in 1659! But forget all that. The HEATWAVE™ is due to strike just before the month is out:
Forecast maps for the UK indicate when the current cold spell could possibly end, promising a 48-hour blast of sun with temperatures reaching up to 26C. A heatwave is predicted to encase the UK at the month's end, as June finally warms up. The mercury, which currently lays low, is expected to at last climb towards the 30C mark by the end of June.
According to weather maps from WX Charts, utilising Met Desk data, the temperature will likely peak around 26C in certain intervals. Cities that will be the hottest include Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, and Newcastle. This warm spell is anticipated to sweep across Britain from June 26th to the 28th.
It could even be the Hottest Evah™ June 26th, 27th, or 28th as measured on a runway at Heathrow or Birmingham airport just as a jet is taxiing for take off. You never know. The climate crisis works in mysterious ways. 25 days of cold and rain and then a snap 48 hour potential record breaking heatwave in five English cities. It could happen. It’s called climate breakdown. Meanwhile, my five day forecast up to mid summer day looks like this (which is an improvement on what went before):
It’s 28.7 near Tokyo right now. Hot, yes, but not newsworthy.
At least they haven't blamed Brexit.
