A few more days of icy temperatures and nights spent defrosting frozen pipes with hairdryers and kettles of hot water, then it gets milder. It’s been quite a spectacular run for early December. We’ve had the coldest December day since 2010, despite 12 years of catastrophic global warming in the interim.
But this is what my local weather forecast looks like. Much warmer by the weekend.
Sod’s Law says Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be mild, wet and windy. It’s been proven, year after year, but here’s the Jet Stream Chart for the start of Christmas Day, which admittedly is still quite a way out and subject to considerable uncertainty. An icy blast from the north? Good news for Santa. It will make his sleigh ride south much easier and quicker.
Funny, Global warming seems like a good idea right now.
