If you want to send posts to paying subscribers only, then that’s fine, that’s your choice. But don’t send me Previews with the enticement of being able to read ‘privileged information’ beyond a paywall. I’m getting more and more of these emails from Substack now. It’s a canny marketing exercise, I’ll grant you. I totally understand that some authors might want to be remunerated for all their hard work, but if you’ve got important information, even globally vital information, which every person on the planet should be made aware of, please share that info freely.

I have unsubscribed from some of these too.. there is plenty of info to read or watch - and I find it insulting to get a couple of paragraphs in and then be blocked!
Ah, yes. "I have the truth, which, for the right price, can be yours."
It's a good business model: witness the "mega-churches" prevalent throughout the US. I call it "salvation for sale". "We are the profits of the Lord".
Having attended business school many years ago, I know enough about the making of profits to understand that you need to deliver what your customers want, and how slippery is the top of the slide that leads to perversion of the message in pursuit of that next sale.
Now, in fairness, there are some substackers who provide the steak gratis, but ask for a little contribution if you want the sizzle. To my mind, that's a good way to walk the line.
