Navigating The Anti-Science Swamp By Torchlight

That’s what it feels like to me: shining a light on tiny areas of a huge festering swamp of antiscientific/pseudoscientific sentiment. You’ve got the millenarian Net Zero/climate crisis nutters, the directed energy weapon nutters, the chemtrail conspiracists (who claim that the chem-trailers are having a day off every time the skies are blue) and now the pandemic deniers, GOF deniers and nihilistic ‘viruses don’t exist’ mob. What I’m seeing is an emergent pattern of consistent science denial, dismissal of basic facts and a worrying tendency for these groups to overlap considerably, or to use a more woke term, become intersectional.

I’m just going to focus my puny flashlight beam on one particular area of the swamp here: virus denialism.

Pierre Kory recently wrote a response to Martin Neil, Jonathan Engler and Jessica Hockett concerning their claim that ‘spikeopathy’ does not explain the novel symptoms associated with COVID-19, plus further claims by Nick Hudson and others that no novel Coronavirus ever existed, there was no identifiable contagious pandemic of a novel, sometimes fatal disease and that ‘Gain of Function is a myth’.

Martin, Jonathan and Jessica wrote a substack in response to that response and I left a comment as follows:

The arrogance is astounding: Kory, Cole, Marik, Kirsch, RFK, Malone, Rose etc. are all wrong and ‘Allen’ and his buddies are correct. Allen, as you can see, is immune to reasoned criticism of his views.

I got into a similar exchange with a similar fanatic (though somewhat less polite) on this recent Substack by Jessica Rose:

Jessica introduces the latest ‘smoking gun’ revelations re. DEFUSE and says, in summary:

To summarize, dangerous pathogens are being made and played with, gene therapy technology is being normalized, good safety studies (by any sane person’s definition) for the modified mRNA-LNP technologies have been by-passed and this extends into the foreseeable future. We must stop globalization of all things at all cost, and when the petrol-dollar collapses, for GOD’S SAKE, do not run to the arms of the CBDC assholes.

This is the ‘smoking gun’ which proves beyond all reasonable doubt that Ecohealth Alliance created the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a lab, which the virus deniers and GOF dismissers would have us believe is a smoke screen, not a gun.

Before I provide you with the rantings of yet another ‘viruses don’t exist’ cultist I would just like to point out an excellent tweet (my bold) by Robin Monotti on ‘X’ concerning these people:

It is these personally ambitious people who tend use technology like podcasts, twitter/X spaces, group tagging in posts, to walk all over everyone else who has different views to them, ganging people up against other people's views and opinions, manipulating their words, and so on. This then creates a show for which other people buy the ticket, and soon enough the freedom movement becomes a spin-off of a Jerry Springer show where people spend all their time in-fighting instead of out-fighting the globalist fraudulent pharma and digital ID, data stealing gene modifying injection pushers and other warmongers. Don't become part of that. Don't become the monster that you claim to be fightingn by fighting us instead of them. You may be used by a group psychology you are not even aware of, whether or not bad actors are consciously involved or not, they soon will be your allies if you continue like this, and you may not be able to spot them being so caught up in your ego battling everybody else. Just leave Robert Malone alone, excuse the pun, and leave anybody else who is doing a great service for freedom alone too. Stop attacking our most influential figures because some mate of yours doesnt like them, nobody claimed perfection, or purity.

I think that says it all, except for the fact that these anti-science, factually challenged zealots inhabit the entire sceptic space, including climate change, weather modification, Net Zero etc., all issues which the globalists are exploiting in order to impoverish us, enslave us and/or drastically reduce our numbers. I don’t know whether it is intentional/organised divide and rule tactics or just some mass formation itself, as Robin suggests (as I too suggested when I said over a year ago that criticism of Malone and his embrace of Desmet’s theory was becoming a ‘mass formation psychosis psychosis’ in itself!). What I do know is that it is profondly irrational and unscientific, even anti-scientific and the current wholesale rejection of large chunks of science, presumably on the basis that we have been demonstrably conned by establishment pseudoscience, is just as dangerous as the activities of the establishment con merchants themselves, perhaps more so. Here is an example of an actual ‘scientist’ denying actual science and instead promoting her own pseudoscientific pet theory, dismissing all those who present credible, rational arguments in opposition to her pet theory as ‘deniers’:

This ‘global warming causes extreme cold weather’ bullshit has been going on for years; the zealots just won’t give up on it, even though the hypothesis has come in for some heavy scientific criticism and is not even worthy of progressing to the status of a ‘scientific theory’. But there are some among us, supposedly on ‘our side’, who still embrace the global warming doctrine, but who also think that chemtrails/weather modification are real and viruses are not.

Ideology is the driving force behind this anti-science cult and the toolkit it employs is misinformation, diversion, dismissal of facts, insults, ad hominem attacks, arrogance, and condescension. When all that doesn’t work, they go straight to censorship. My latest spat with an online commenter on Jessica Rose’s post above amply demonstrates the former:

And on it went. They definitely don’t like (or expect) to be called out on their BS online. Well that’s what I do and that’s what I will continue to do. Because details matter. Facts matter. Data matters. Science matters. When those things cease to matter, we start living in the Dark Ages again. We need the sun to rise on the Anti-science Swamp; then I won’t need my torch anymore.
