Giorgia Meloni’s election as Italian PM has obviously unsettled the rabidly woke Left and, as we know, when they don’t feel comfortable with expressed views which are not their own, they immediately resort to censorship.
Hence, it’s no surprise that Youtube suddenly decided to remove a speech by Meloni which she delivered in 2019. They’ve restored it after protests. But that’s not the point. As soon as Meloni became Italian PM, the knee-jerk reaction of Big Tech was to start censoring her because she’s famous now and lots more people are going to be viewing ‘dangerous wrongspeak’. Meloni Derangement Syndrome is now live.
YouTube removed a video featuring incoming Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The video is of a speech she gave at the 2019 World Congress of Families, where she focused on family values.
The removal of the video sparked outrage among many, considering the video had been on the platform for years and was only censored when Meloni was elected as Italy’s first woman Prime Minister.
In the speech, Meloni outlines why she believes family is important:
“Why is the family an enemy? Why is the family so frightening?
“There is a single answer to all these questions. Because it defines us. Because it is our identity. Because everything that defines us is now an enemy for those who would like us to no longer have an identity and to simply be perfect consumer slaves.
“And so they attack national identity, they attack religious identity, they attack gender identity, they attack family identity.
“I can’t define myself as Italian, Christian, woman, mother. No. I must be citizen x, gender x, parent 1, parent 2. I must be a number.
“Because when I am only a number, when I no longer have an identity or roots, then I will be the perfect slave at the mercy of the financial speculators. The perfect consumer.
“That’s the reason why we inspire so much fear. That’s why this event inspires so much fear. Because we do not want to be numbers. We will defend the value of the human being. Every single human being. Because each of us has a unique genetic code that is unrepeatable. And like it or not, that is sacred. We will defend it. We will defend God, country and family.”
Ooh, edgy, very edgy.
Amusingly, we have another very recent example of censorship of Italians, in this case demanded by climate alarmist scientists, for the heinous sin of peer reviewed wrongspeak. I wrote about a paper released in January here:
The study claimed that there was no evidence of a ‘climate crisis’. It seems this has upset the climate fanatics now that Sky news have made it common knowledge online, so the ‘fact checkers’ at AFP decided to contact some real climate scientists to put the record straight.
Otto and Rahmstorf are demanding that the paper be retracted on the purely technical basis of ‘How dare they challenge the settled science climate crisis narrative!’
"They are writing this article in bad faith," said Friederike Otto, a senior climatologist at the Grantham Institute for Climate Change and the Environment.
'Climate sceptics'
"They do not have a section on heat waves"—mentioned only in passing—"where the observed trends are so incredibly obvious", Otto said.
The study is written "by people not working in climatology and obviously unfamiliar with the topic and relevant data," said Stefan Rahmstorf, Head of Earth Systems at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
"It is not published in a climate journal—this is a common avenue taken by 'climate sceptics' in order to avoid peer review by real experts in the field."
"They simply ignore studies that don't fit their narrative and have come to the opposite conclusion."
All four of the experts consulted by AFP suggested that the study should never have been published in the first place, and two of them called for it to be withdrawn.
"I do not know this journal, but if it is a self-respecting one it should withdraw the article," said Rahmstorf.
Just the usual arrogant, elitist, entitled, patronising twaddle from the High Priests of Climastrology.
The thing is, all four authors of this climate crisis denying paper are Italian, so I’m wondering, is this the first case of Meloni Derangment Syndrome by Proxy? Could well be. What next? An Umberto Eco book burning festival? ‘Leonardo Da Vinci - A Modern Reappraisal of His Alleged Genius’?
I wonder if someone who is a Climate Impact Researcher which I assume means the effect of postulated climate variations on humans is actually qualified to pronounce on climate change which is (or should be) about the physics of climate.
Why am I not surprised. Maybe the silver lining of this, is that whenever the do this, they are helping to raise the profile of the thing they are trying to censor [I think its called the Streisand Effect?]
