That’s what this UN representative claims.
The basis of her hubristic, arrogant assertion is that the UN partnered with Google to manipulate search results such that when folks like you and me searched for ‘climate change’, the top results were dominated by UN sources and ‘distorted’ information from other sources came way down the list or did not even appear.
She is correct that Google have manipulated the search results in favour of UN sources.

That much is true. Does this mean that the UN now owns the science? No, of course it doesn’t. It merely indicates that they now control the flow of information about the science.
But obviously they don’t control it that well because journalists and Google are having to lie about it for them, in addition to censoring information which runs counter to ‘the Science’. Michael Shellenburger makes the point that the media are intentionally lying about climate change and hurricanes when they claim that hurricanes are becoming more intense and more frequent. This is almost certainly the case. They cannot be that stupid and unaware in the collective. Maybe individual journalists, but not virtually all of them.
Moreover. Big Tech in the form of Google, which assists the UN now in promoting their alleged ownership of climate science, promotes links which lead directly to media sources lying about the connection between hurricanes and climate change. That’s a bit off no? Check it for yourself:

Google strips away ‘distortions’ about climate science in order to promote the UN’s one and only true climate science, but on the subject of hurricanes, Google promotes direct lies which contradict the science, even the Science (TM). Here’s what the very latest UN IPCC AR6WG1 report says about hurricanes and tropical cyclones:
In summary, there is mounting evidence that a variety of TC characteristics have changed over various time periods. It is likely that the global proportion of Category 3–5 tropical cyclone instances and the frequency of rapid intensification events have increased globally over the past 40 years. It is very likely that the average location where TCs reach their peak wind intensity has migrated poleward in the western North Pacific Ocean since the 1940s. It is likely that TC translation speed has slowed over the USA since 1900.
In summary, it is very likely that the recent active TC seasons in the North Atlantic, the North Pacific, and Arabian basins cannot be explained without an anthropogenic influence. The anthropogenic influence on these changes is principally associated to aerosol forcing.
That’s all they can say, which isn’t much. It confirms the more detailed analysis of decadal and century-scale analysis which I referred to here:
That showed quite convincingly that climate change is not affecting hurricane frequency or intensity and that the observed increase since the 60s and 70s is due to internal variability and/or anthropogenic aerosols. You will note that the IPCC AR6 reports grabs at the aerosols straw in an attempt to explain the increase over the last 40 years, not even mentioning Atlantic multidecadal activity. But even so, the shabby excuse for ‘science’ on offer from the UN does not suggest that climate change is responsible for any long term increase in hurricane intensity and frequency - simply because there is no evidence that this is occurring. So Google is promoting direct lies, as is the main stream media.
You have to ask yourself, if the UN’s science of climate change, which they now claim to actually own, is so rock solid and unassailable, why are the UN’s agents in the media and Big Tech promoting lies about the science of climate change, which even the UN’s version of that Science, straight from the horse’s mouth, cannot back up with hard evidence?
It's the same appalling authoritarian mindset that Jacinda Ardern used on New Zealanders regarding Covid: "We will continue to be your single source of truth". Chilling.
In a way it is a good thing they are being so explicit about this, as it will turn people off. While google is nearly monopolistic, it isn't entirely so, and it has its alternatives (I even saw Duck Duck Go being advertised on the TV this week, and the Brave Browser is becoming more popular). The more they are explicit about watching and manipulating us, the more people will go else where, and Google will lose ad revenue. The other problem with capturing the manipulation is that google searches are so ephemeral, and so tuned to the person, so everyone sees something different.
As for the people who want to control "Science", I have to feel somewhat sorry for them. This need to control everything we do, see, say and think must be very stressful way to live, and can't be good for their health. These are also the type of people who can't stand to be mocked, and when the come out with daft statements like this, they get more and lampooned and derided, which hurts them. It is because they need to boast about what they are doing, instead of manipulating from behind the curtain, that they are defeating themselves.
