Biden Appoints A Woke, Anti-Science 'Climate Scientist' To Intelligence Advisory Board

Folks are wondering why, but the answer is implicit in the title of this post. It’s obvious. Marshall Shepherd says:

This appointment is a “no-brainer”

Once again, the clue as to why is in plain sight in that short statement.

You only have to glance through Professor Kim Cobb’s Twitter account to get an idea of just how ‘progressive’ and woke she is. You can see how she is obsessed with the idea of man-made Thermageddon and how she uses ‘science’ to apply a thin veneer of respectability to claims that humans are ‘dangerously’ heating the planet. Apparently, she suffered some sort of nervous breakdown when Trump was elected as President in 2016. Her respect for hard science and data comes into serious doubt with this recent tweet:

Ah yes, about those masks . . . . .

Masks are a mass social delusion that do nothing to prevent infection, but that make some people feel better by helping them to cope with virus hysteria

Cobb didn’t have access to the latest Cochrane Review which showed conclusively, once again, for the umpteenth time, that there is no detectable, significant benefit of wearing a flimsy surgical mask or an N95 respirator on preventing or slowing the spread of an airborne respiratory virus. So, in actual fact, ‘scientist’ Professor Kim Cobb was right: it is the least she can do to #stopthespread - i.e. NOTHING! But of course she didn’t mean it that way: this was full-on anti-science gesture politics/virtue signalling from an alleged scientist. If she gets it so wrong on Covid and viruses, pointedly ignoring the masses of scientific data and research which demonstrates no significant benefit of masks, why should we have any faith at all in her ability in her core area - coral paleo-proxies of past climate which allegedly demonstrate the current ‘dangerous’ influence of humans on the planet? Why on earth would Biden elevate her to the ‘Intelligence’ Board? I think that’s obvious isn’t it?

Marshall Shepherd tries to rationalise her appointment - presumably because she’s a colleague and friend and fellow climate activist - but fails miserably:

President Biden has announced appointments to his Intelligence Advisory Board. In a White House press release issued on January 26th, 2023, it was noted that Dr. Kim Cobb, Director of the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society and an environmental sciences professor had been appointed to the Board. What is that board and why is a climate scientist on it?

However, I know many people might be asking why she was appointed to this particular board. To answer that question, let’s consider a recent major intelligence report. In 2021, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released the report, “Climate Change and International Responses Increasing Challenges to U.S. National Security Through 2040.” Right out of the gate, the report features a matrix highlighting levels of risk associated with geopolitical tensions over climate responses, climate exacerbated geopolitical flashpoint, and climate effects impacting country-level security. In 2011 I co-authored a National Academies report identifying climate change threats to U.S. Naval operations and national security so the ODNI report strongly resonated with me.

The White House has stressed that it plans to prioritize climate within the context of foreign policy and national security. In a 2021 fact sheet, it stated, “The climate crisis is reshaping our physical world, with the Earth’s climate changing faster than at any point in modern history and extreme weather events becoming more frequent and severe....The scientific community is clear: human activities have directly contributed to climate change.” The release went on to say, “We are already experiencing the devastating impacts that climate has wreaked on almost every aspect of our lives, from food and water insecurity to infrastructure and public health, this crisis is exacerbating inequalities that intersect with gender, race, ethnicity, and economic security.”

This is exactly why Dr. Cobb is needed on that Board.

I love that: ‘the scientific community is clear that humans are contributing to climate change and that the impacts are devastating.’ Not the science, I note! LOL. This is not rational. This is not science. This is insane politics. There is no ‘climate crisis’ which is a threat to national and global security. We know now that it is a fiction, just like the alleged 'global and national security threat’ of the pandemic which necessitated the killer lockdowns and mass vaccination campaigns. This is a purely political appointment and it signifies that the Biden regime has not given up on its ambition of taking down America via its illegitimate, immensely damaging and authoritarian response to the twin fabricated crises of Covid and climate change.
