This is what the jet stream looks like now. Note that the UK is in a relatively calm airflow whilst a north-westerly jet stream is pounding northern Spain and Valencia, so I imagine it’s fairly unsettled and cool there at the moment. Any holiday makers looking for winter sun are going to be a bit disappointed.
That’s a very wavy jet stream configuration but just look at what’s happening on Dec 2nd.
From southern Greenland, the jet stream plunges due south as far as the Atlantic west of North Africa, then shoots straight back up due north into the Arctic north of Greenland! During autumn, that returning jet stream was slamming into the UK, bringing very mild air from southern Spain. Now a long finger of high pressure is blocking its movement east, so it is forced due north. I cannot recall ever seeing such a dramatic configuration. That is the most meridional of meridional jet streams. As we go into December, a blocking high is building over northern Europe and the British Isles, which means colder, drier weather and lighter winds, which means electricity demand will increase when all those useless, inefficient wind turbines are hardly turning and generating power. High pressure is still there when a weird and winding jet stream once again plunges south from Greenland, this time crashing into the Moroccan coast.
So what’s the significance of all this? Maybe nothing, but it may be a warning that, because we have an extraordinarily meridional jet stream forming at the beginning of winter, this may allow extended periods of blocking where exceptionally cold, still Arctic air can spread across northern Europe and the British Isles. With the perilous state of Europe’s energy infrastructure and supply network at the moment, due to the insanity of closing down fossil fuel and nuclear power stations, the over-reliance upon so called ‘renewable’ wind energy and the controlled demolition of our gas supplies, this does not bode well at all. We saw such winters in the 60s and 70s, after which winters generally became wetter and milder in the UK as westerlies dominated. We’re overdue for a return of continental winter airflows.
LOL. The 'climate crisis'/man-made Thermageddon obsessed Guardian is having to report on severe cold in Russia and China and in the US due to blocking high pressure, which, though they don't say it, is directly related to the quite extreme meridional northern hemisphere jet stream configuration we're currently seeing. They're also having to admit that the useless 'renewables' which they have consistently championed as the 'solution' to that alleged 'climate crisis' are not going to meet energy demand in Europe.
"A large area of high pressure covering the whole of eastern Europe is bringing severely low temperatures across Siberia. In a part of the world where temperatures are often below freezing at this time of year, the mercury has been 20C to 25C below average in areas over the weekend, with central and eastern Russia experiencing temperatures widely of -25C to -45C.
Incredibly, by Wednesday, the huge area of high pressure affecting Russia and China will stretch all the way into the UK with an easterly wind sweeping cold air westwards across Europe. Away from Russia, there will also be a lot of cloud within this easterly flow across much of Europe. While demand for energy will increase because of the low temperatures, the low amounts of sunshine, below average wind and reduced precipitation mean that energy produced by renewable sources will be well below normal.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic Ocean, central and western parts of the US another cold plunge is expected at the start of this week as cold air dives south from Canada once again as an area of low pressure tracks north-east. However, warm, moist air will be drawn up from the Gulf of Mexico on the eastern flank of the low pressure, bringing a risk of severe thunderstorms and potentially tornadoes to several southern states on Tuesday, especially Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi. As the low pressure continues to track north-east through the week, colder air will eventually affect eastern parts of the US as well."

The Green commies will still blame it on CO2. It is their religion, and source of social control
