All You Need Is Love
What you don’t need: Wit, wisdom, intelligence, understanding, sense of proportion, rationality, genuine compassion for self and others, curiosity, caution, due diligence, responsibility, discernment, scepticism.
All that stuff which makes us uniquely human apparently comes under the umbrella of ‘hate’ when even the truth deserts you and all you have left is ‘love’ and trans-humanist certainty.
This is the kind of thinking that enables people to do the most horrific things in the name of virtue. This is how holy wars and ethnic cleansing is justified. Just appeal to a higher power be it god or love and be sure to demonise the other. Abandon your sense of reason and fairness and prop yourself up by calling yourself a hero. It is unbelievable the lengths people will go to in order to not have to admit they were wrong.
