A Functional Definition Of Evil

On the eve of the General Election in the UK in which eco-fascist-cum-Marxist-globalist Labour are predicted by virtually all polls to secure a supermajority, I’m feeling like I woke up after swallowing a whole bottle of black pills by the bedside.

So I’m going to talk about evil and about what I think evil really means in this mixed up, muddled up, shook up world. Because it’s not quite what I thought it meant, or rather, struggled hard to think it meant, over many years of thinking hard about what I thought evil meant!

You see, I have for a long time believed that evil must be defined by malicious intent. This seemed logical. In order to do evil, you must appreciate consciously that you are doing evil and you must plan and prepare to do evil, knowing that your evil acts will result in evil consequences. But where the hell does that impulse come from? Oh yes, of course, Hell. Mephistopheles ‘made’ me do it, said Dr Faustus! Yes, but you had free will and you signed a Contract with the Devil because he promised you something which you craved. Even after signing on the dotted line, you could have told the Devil to fuck off and suffered the evil consequences of doing so yourself, without inflicting your compelled evil acts upon innocent others.

Now I’m not so sure that my notion of evil was correct - and it certainly has not proved useful to diagnose our current worldly ills. This is because the question of motive behind the actions of modern evil-doers is so vexed. Even though we can hypothesise about global conspiracies and New World Orders etc. etc. run by a ruling parasitic ‘elite’ class, when you scratch below the surface, it isn’t nearly so simple. Who are the real leaders for example, and who are the hangers on and the followers? Who is genuinely evil and motivated by pure malice and who is just ‘following orders’? We can’t know for sure and we probably never will know.

But what we do know for sure is that identifiable actors are doing and have very recently done evil acts which will and have resulted in catastrophically harmful consequences. Were they aware of those consequences? In many cases yes. Does it matter that they were aware? I argue no, because it only matters that they were free to choose between acting or not acting, or acting in a different manner, the latter two which would have resulted in no harm. They chose the former, they chose to inflict harm upon the innocent, knowingly or unknowingly, for ‘the greater good’ or for some other not so noble purpose. Their act of choosing resulted in catastrophic consequences and chaos. They are therefore functionally evil and they don’t get a free lunch. That is all that really matters.

Oh but, what if they were mad? Mad people can’t make responsible choices. Ill people (like Joe Biden) can’t make responsible choices. True, but for how long has Joe Biden been incapable of knowing his own mind? Show me the receipts. Show me that the Covid lockdown tyrants of 2020/21 were clinically insane. Show me that Ed Miliband, whose plans to make the UK a ‘clean energy superpower’ will result in social, environmental and economic ruin for our country and its people is a diagnosed delusional schizophrenic or whatever. Show me that the war mongers expanding NATO to within inches of the Russian border are certified loony tunes.

Hot on the heels of Covid inspired medical fascism, eco fascism is about to be released big time upon the UK, via Miliband and his side-kick Starmer. But you don’t need to understand fascism and understand what motivates it in order to know that it is bad. This person on X says it well:

‘It’s about stopping it, not debating it’. It’s about eradicating evil actions and thus the consequences of those evil actions, not debating the motivations and causes which lie behind those evil actions. Thus in Australia:

The Labor government is doing evil things in Australia. Labour’s Miliband will do the same in the UK - courtesy of the disgraceful Cons who have gifted them a huge majority. We will all be much poorer for it. The planet is not going to be saved but wild landscapes will be devastated, wildlife will be destroyed, millions of homes will be blighted, agricultural land will be decommissioned and we will all be much poorer and hungrier and much less free by the end of it. This is functionally evil. Functional evil is what is going to destroy our future and destroy human civilisation if we are not careful.
